    • Is that the legendary 鸡白汤?!
Sometimes chain-store ramen is just as hearty as Michelin starred ones. At least that's my experience at #tokyoramentakeichi with Chicken broth ramen, or #toripaitan. Not to mention good macros and gains with extra sous vide chicken breast! This one's at #akihabara, just a 5mins stroll from the station.
    • Horse meat for you?
Basashi, or Sakuraniku (桜肉; literally cherry blossom meat) is not uncommon a delicacy in Japan. In some northern parts like Nagano it's also considered staple due to the cold climate. Luckily we can just go to Ikebukuro to @sambariki__gram, nestled in a quiet street full of 'transit' hotels. It's very pinkish red hence the name akin to flowers, and is much leaner than beef. I couldn't really float the sashimi although my friends loved it, but the grilled ones were gorgeous. This is coming from someone who chronically only eats chicken beef pork.
    • Me not knowing that 7" vinyls can come with a wide spindle (45rpm) smh @sweeleemusic's #clarkequay experience-cafe pretty cool yo
    • Sipping an iced coffee at @southsidekeppel, enjoying chicken and waffles brunch on a warm day. High bar to beat!
    • @kotuwa.sg, meaning "Fort" in Sinhalese, is a lively yet modern place for casual Sri Lankan fare. I felt it will be a lot more fun if you came in a larger group, say minimum 4-6pax so you can share more dishes. Try out the Kottu, which is basically chopped up rotti with stir fried assortments, and their mutton rolls, and the other curries (it changes now and then). Fun fact, with Wanderlust by @theunlimitedcollection.sg, they occupy what is an old building of my primary school (although I am too young to have attend class here). However, they are relocating in May 2024, so please check out their pages for more details!
    • Went to @sirihousesg for a simple bday brunch and it was an absolute treat. There was emphasis on the harmony and variety of the menu courses, while still catering to most palates. Recommend to come here in a group for their more extensive dinner menu courses!
    • We were hungry from the a morning of braving the cold and decided to explore Shibu Onsen for lunch. Chanced upon Sobadokoro Yariya somewhere within and found a huge collection of dolls and also @monsterhuntergame memorabilia which even included an autographed poster/scroll that some recognized as the VA/Devs. Can you recognise them? Frankly you won't expect gourmet cuisine here, but the hospitality and comfort food is warm and we gladly enjoyed ourselves while watching the news that the shinkansen is disrupted for an undetermined period of time 😭
    • Spent 5800yen for 3 cups of coffee at @glitch_coffee? Definitely worth the trip to flavourtown. Arguably one of the top coffee shops in Tokyo and some say in Kanto region!
    • Shimokitazawa is such a melting pot for different subcultures, but curry is not what you expect. It not only has numerous curry restaurants peppered throughout the area, but also hosts 1 of the biggest curry festivals (so specific) in Japan, with over 100 restaurants taking part in competitions. @kalpasi_shimokitazawa is one such restaurant specialising in Indian curries. I felt that it was quite true to its roots, with some local twists. You can choose the number of curries (out of four; one is always meat-free) and you bet I got all of them to enjoy!
